Hi! My name is Dunk

BodyGuards, established in 1993, was the first, and is still the largest, most reputable personal training service of its kind in the North East of England. We believe in offering bespoke personal training plans to help you achieve your goals, whether you just want to improve your all round fitness levels or you are in training for the Great North Run.

In 2007, Bodyguards was purchased by two of the top trainers in the North East, myself and Tony Douglass. We are experienced, enthusiastic and highly qualified managers. Bodyguards is constantly developing and progressing, giving our clients the best possible health advice and guidance around.

Here at BodyGuards we believe in looking at you as a whole person, not just as a set of measurements and ratios. Your lifestyle is taken into consideration and we also offer diet and nutritional advice along with your exercise regime.

But the biggest difference between BodyGuards and other gyms is that you will receive one to one, personal training as standard. Your personal trainer will work with you every step of the way, to an agreed schedule, giving you the motivation you often need to achieve your goals. By constantly monitoring your performance we will help you see yourself improving, in fitness levels as well as in body size and shape.

My History

Working in the fitness industry for over 15 years, I have made a name for myself through my personal training results, as well as teaching ability. I have experience from working with children right through to the elderly, and everybody in between. I communicate and motivate exceptionally well, and have the skills and the knowledge to help anyone achieve their personal goals.

I pride myself by helping others take control of their lives both mentally and physically, and have helped many people get up and running on the road to personal fitness. Who knows what you'll be able to achieve with a kick-start in the right direction!

With my experience, I can help you make healthy, realistic, sustainable lifestyle choices without the fads, quick fixes and gimmicks - to help you improve your health for now, and for the long-term.

As a student, I developed a very scientific approach to health and fitness, Specialising in the biomechanics of sports and human motor control. Before joining Bodyguards in 2001, I worked in a variety of health clubs in Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle in a range of roles from Gym Instructor/Lifestyle Consultant to Membership Advisor to Deputy Manager coaching sports on the side. Now a director of Bodyguards, Newcastle Running School, Certified Metabolic Typing Advisor, CHEK Exercise Coach, Holistic Lifestyle Coach and currently a student at CHEK Academy, I continue to specialise in correctional exercise, high performance conditioning, injury rehabilitation, personalised nutrition, holistic health, lifestyle guidance and biomechanics of sports (golf, football, skiing and squash to name but a few).
